Safety And Tranquility

Be smart in every country you are visiting! It’s important to be safe and sound in any place especially in a country you don’t know very well! Always be careful because you have so much to live and your family is waiting for you!

Now about Belo Horizonte city I have something to say: the city compared to another big city in Brazil such as Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro has less crimes and robbery but you cannot trust only in statistics. Don’t need to be in panic too. Belo Horizonte is a calm city with great hospitality but you need to be careful to enjoy your trip. Avoid community areas (known as “favelas”) or metropolitan areas and be focused in visiting known tourist areas in Belo Horizonte city.

You can be relaxed. Belo Horizonte city offers Police patrol near every important tourist area. You can call 190 (brazilian military Police) for any problem. Belo Horizonte also has support for foreigners located at Rua Espírito Santo, 594, downtown.

Tips for your safety and security: don’t take or drink cocktails or soda or any liquid from strangers. Don’t talk to strangers in Brazil if you are not fluent in portuguese language. Don’t show value acessories or important docs to anyone (except to authorities). Don’t be rude against anyone for no reason. Ensure you are accompanied about most part of the time through the night.

If you hire me as your local friend you won’t need to be worry because I’m here to ensure your safety and watch your back. You have access to my website (this website) where are my photos and some of my personal info. Please note that I also take precautions about every person I meet so you have to identify yourself at the moment you hire me as your local friend.

Come to Belo Horizonte and feel like you are home!

Useful number contacts for emergency or security in Brazil

190 for military police (useful in case of assault, robbery or similar)

192 for ambulance (useful in case of injury, car accident, emergency due to health problems, other accidents)

193 for fires or rescue operation (useful in case of fire accident, rescue from dangerous places specially in isolated areas)

197 in case you don’t speak portuguese so good (this number is from Civil Police Department but they have police officers who speak english to support foreigners in trouble but before you visit Brazil I recommend learn at least basic portuguese or advanced spanish, brazilians comprehend spanish language more easily than english or other language).
